to detroit, with love

i love my friend michele jacoby. she and rick have moved from austin to greater detroit, but that doesn't keep us from talking on the phone at least once a week, and trash talking on facebook. she is one of the funniest people i know, and one of the most caring.

they are having a hard time adjusting to detroit from austin. but they know they heard from the Lord to move back to michigan. please pray for them. pray they find a church home. pray for rick's job as a parole officer. pray michele can find a job that fits her giftings.

she recently sent me a package. she told me not to blog about it. so i will.

contents of package:

1. gilmore girls season 5. i don't know if i can take any more of this show, but i will, if i must.

2. broken fake gold Jesus pin missing it's rhinestone.

3. black bikini top. i sent her this. she sent it back. she obviously doesn't know what to do with it. and i'm guessing the Jesus pin is for me to wear with the bikini top.

4. "cocktails for dummies" booklet. this from a girl who drinks wine coolers. i KNOW how to make a margarita. i will need this booklet to get through season 5.

5. hello kitty notepad. not a fan of hello kitty. but i know someone who is. my 6 year-old niece, who incidentally turns 7 today!!! Happy Birthday sweetie!!! Aunt Anne got you a hello kitty notepad!

this is what i'm sending her back:

1. "Wednesdays with Beth" Moore dvds. i've had these for a while. Beth's accent I'm sure will cheer her up.
2. bikini top, with instructions again on how to wear it. (over a tee shirt, with a long party skirt.) good look for a pig roast or whatever they do in Detroit for fun.

3. valentine hershey's kisses from the boys

4. pirate action figure, whose name is "orange hair pirate" according to the box. His leg was partially chewed off within 10 minutes of arriving at our house.

5. a Steven Bush print.

i really think she is getting the better deals here.
