status anonymous

I am starting a new community group, with the focus being on freeing those who are addicted to updating their status on Facebook. ***

Here's a little of what it will look like:

Meeting 1: Anyone with an iPhone will be asked to delete the FB app. All others will be asked to sign a form promising to not check FB more than once a day. We will do jumping jacks.

Meeting 2: We will introduce some other ways to find satisfaction in your life besides updating your status. I call this the "What Would Jesus Do?" meeting.

Meeting 3: We will take a field trip. We will look at nature. We will not photograph it. We will not mention it on our status. We will not write on someone's wall about it. Are you feeling free yet?

Meeting 4: Accountability. Another check of iPhones to see if the app has still been deleted. All others will be asked to check FB no more than 3x a week.

If you make it this far in the group, there is disco bowling and nachos involved.

***disclaimer: I know there are plenty of you who harmlessly update your status several times a day. This group is for serious addicts. Do you update while you drive? Do you go into a bathroom at a party to check your status comments? When you make a decision to do something, like go grocery shopping, do you feel the need to tell the world? You may have a problem.
