Yesterday morning on K-LOVE the deejays were having a "wake" for Chris Tomlin, going on about the fact he has left Texas. Funny, but painful, as he is missed in Austin. But really, isn't there enough deadness in the church that we don't need to call the alive things dead? I would much rather celebrate the life in the Church!
You would have to be an idiot to not know it was really hard for Chris and his band to leave Austin. (And I'm not calling the morning deejays idiots, by the way.) When God gives you His love for a city, a church, it doesn't just vanish overnight. I would think it never dies. Chris and his band are entering a new season and need your prayers. Just as the Austin Stone is entering a new season. There is a fresh wind of His Spirit blowing and it's not limited and inclusive. You don't have to own a pair of skinny jeans to have it. The Holy Spirit gives freely. And the last time I checked, Jesus Christ was still at our church. Doing damage to the enemy, redeeming His bride. Just like He is in Georgia - in all 50 states, in all the countries, all over our world, dominating the galaxies, stirring up the heavenlies...a Havoc Wreaking, Laughing, Warring, Fire Jesus.
God is doing a GREAT work in His Kingdom. Don't miss it. His Kingdom is coming, His bride is being made ready. Celebrate His Aliveness in you. Marvel at it. Give Him your past, give Him your future. Live in the NOW. Don't miss a thing HE is doing!
