come and take
The Austin Stone had their VBS a few weeks ago, and even though I was working, I was really glad for the time I got to experience of the worship at the end of each day. His Spirit was really present and I know God touched the hearts of the kids there. So thanking Him for that! And thanking Him for all the volunteers who loved the kids so well and for our gifted children's ministry pastors and staff.
One evening during that week, Syd told us he wrote a song called 'Come and take'. He sang it for us and then later wrote down the words, and gave me permission to share it with our friends. When he sings it, it sounds kind of like a hymn. It's hilarious when he makes Ben sing it with him. Syd's heart encourages me, and his big smiles and hugs keep us all going when the going has been rough.
The song is called Come and Take:
Come and take, come and take
Come and take us from this dreadful place.
Come and take, come and take,
Come and take us to Your holy place
Why did You have to die for me? For me?
You took it all on that day to make a way
And You came out of the tomb without any wounds
And went to Your holy place
So come and take, come and take us
Away from this sinful place
