prayers for Virginia Tech and the gunman's family

As the media reports the latest with footage of the gunman, I see not a monster but a young man who was terribly demonized. It's in his eyes, it's in his voice, it's in his actions. It was written on his arm. If we think this young man was a one of a kind monster, we are very mistaken. This act had satan's mark all over it.

How many other college students across our nation are in the same downward spiral he was? Thousands, no doubt whatsoever.

So I pray, first of all for the gunman's family, God I ask you send someone to minister to them. God send someone to be your merciful ambassador of love to them right now.

I pray for the students of Virginia Tech. God I know you have lit a spark in a lot of these students for the first time, so fan it into flames! Be undeniably real to them. Send your angels to fill the air of that campus, to minister to the hurting, to whisper into believing ears Your plans in this. Send your Spirit like a rushing river over that city. Create a great army of God on that campus. One with arms that reach out across the nation. Arms that lift up all those in mind numbing, unspeakable darkness. Do it God. Please do it like only You can.

satan had his day. God would you instill in this generation a hope that never fades, a supernatural strength to stand in these days, a joy that has conquered death.

We look to see Your plan unfold in the coming days, and we won't stop praying for it to happen.

Amen. So be it Lord Jesus.
