you say it's your birthday....

Tomorrow is Blonde FunkNation's birthday.  We will be celebrating with some good friends in the hood.  Here is a little quiz to see how well you know him. 

Below is a list of things I got him (or not).  See if you can guess the right items.

1.  Cute little pottery mugs with no handles.

2.  Chocolate covered gummy bears.

5.  A gnome for the front yard that looks like a writer.

If you guessed 1, 3, 4 and 9 - you are correct!!!  Number 8 was on his list, but yuck who wants to buy a paper shredder.  Especially when you have a dog that eats paper.  If Number 6 exists, I want to see it.  Kind of.

I'm also baking him a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream frosting from a Barefoot Contessa recipe.  I like her because she is always so radiantly sugared up and obviously not worried about her butter intake.  We all need at least one day a year to live like the contessa.
