the fire of God's love
Liked this, from Bob Sorge's book "The Fire of God's Love":
"So when we pray, "Lord, I want to follow You. I just want to be where You are," we quickly realize that in order to stay in Christ's shadow we've got to keep pace with Him. His heart is for the needy masses of the world, and we will not be able to stay in His company if we isolate ourselves and take up permanent residence in our prayer closet. If we want to be with Him, we're going to have to go with Him to touch the needs of the people of the world."
As I read this, it caused me to ponder... Who are you serving? Who or what are you in love with? Your ministry or Jesus? God is a jealous God and He will certainly take away your ministry if that is what it takes to keep your heart motive's right. Thank the Lord that when we give Him our hearts, that when we enter into covenant with Him, He never fails to see us through and takes that committment more seriously than we ever could.
Also this, from the same book:
"Evangelistic efforts fueled by people's responses are sure to fizzle out; evangelistic fervor that is fueled by God's love from within can face any human or demonic obstacle without diminishment."
More later...
